Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
Educational & Technical Qualifications
- Educational Qualification: Must have passed Class 12 (Higher Secondary) from a recognized Board.
- Typing Speed Requirements:
- Computer typing speed of 35 words per minute (WPM) in English (corresponding to 10,500 key depressions per hour); OR
- Computer typing speed of 30 words per minute (WPM) in Hindi (corresponding to 9,000 key depressions per hour).
Age Limit (As on the last date of receipt of applications)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 25 years
- Age Relaxations: Upper age limit is relaxable by up to 3 years for eligible OBC candidates, along with other applicable government directives for designated reserved categories.
Salary & Pay Scale
- Pay Commission: 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), Pay Level 2
- Starting Basic Pay: ₹19,900/- per month (in a pay matrix range of ₹19,900 – ₹63,200, plus applicable allowances).
Selection Process
- Application Scrutiny: Preliminary verification of applications based on age, educational credentials, and attached documents.
- Written Examination: Eligible candidates will undergo a written test carrying 100% weightage covering subjects such as General Intelligence, English Language, Numerical Aptitude, and General Awareness.
- Typing Skill Test: Shortlisted candidates from the written exam will be called for a qualifying computer typing speed test (English 35 WPM / Hindi 30 WPM).
- Document Verification: Final selection is determined by written exam merit subject to successful document verification.
How to Apply
Tip: Ensure your application is neatly typed in English or Hindi on an A4-size paper following the prescribed Annexure-I format. Attach self-attested copies of your 12th certificate, age proof, and OBC category certificates, and make sure it reaches the Trivandrum unit well before the deadline.
- Obtain and print the prescribed application form template (Annexure-I) from the official notification.
- Fill out all personal details, educational qualifications, typing credentials, and category details accurately in English or Hindi.
- Affix a recent self-attested passport-size photograph on the application form and enclose self-attested photocopies of all required supporting certificates (Class 12 pass certificate, age proof, OBC certificate, etc.).
- Include two additional passport-size photographs and a self-addressed envelope affixed with a ₹10 postage stamp.
- Superscribe the outer envelope clearly in capital letters: “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF HINDI TYPIST AND CATEGORY OBC”.
