Stipend & Financial Details

• Stipend: Paid as prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, and notified by the Government from time to time.
• IREL (India) Limited will not provide any other benefits or financial assistance during the training period.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

• Must possess full-time regular qualifications as specified in the table above from recognized universities/institutions. Distance learning, part-time, or correspondence modes are not eligible.
• Note: Candidates possessing higher professional post-graduate degrees (such as M.E/M.Tech, MCA, MBA, M.Sc, MA, M.Com, CA/ICWA, Ph.D., LL.B, etc., except for AAO(P)) are overqualified and need not apply.

Age Limit (As on the last date of application)

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 25 years
• Age Relaxations: Up to 5 years for SC/ST, up to 3 years for OBC (NCL), and up to 10 years for PWD candidates.

Selection Priority & Methodology

Selection is based on a merit list prepared using marks scored in the specified qualifying examination. Priority for engagement follows this hierarchical order:

1. Land Affected Category (documentary proof from IREL Resources Department required).
2. Candidates from mining areas and peripheral villages within a 10 km radius of the IREL Chavara unit.
3. Wards of serving employees / Forum members.
4. Candidates belonging to Kollam District.
5. Candidates belonging to Kerala State.
6. Others.

How to Apply

Tip: This is a mandatory two-step process. First, register online on the respective government portals using establishment registration number E08153200007. Second, print and fill out the official application format (Annexure A), attach self-attested document copies, and send it via speed post before October 31, 2026.

1. Step 1 (Portal Registration):
   • For Trade Apprentices: Register on http://www.apprenticeshipindia.org.
   • For Graduate/Technician/General Apprentices: Register on http://www.nats.education.gov.in.
2. Step 2 (Offline Dispatch): Fill out the application form provided in the notification, affix a passport-size photograph, and enclose self-attested photocopies of proof of birth, mark sheets, category/EWS certificates, portal registration details, nativity certificate, and ID proof.
3. Superscribe the outer cover: “APPLICATION FOR ENGAGEMENT OF APPRENTICE AGAINST NOTIFICATION NO. IREL (India) Limited / Chavara/Apprentices Engagement/2026-27 dated 12-10-2026”.
4. Mail or submit the application packet by post (preferably Speed Post) to reach on or before 31 October 2026 to:
